(Bane of the Orcs)

Made in the third age by Dunadan swordsmith Ernilion who had studied with the the Elven smiths in Rivendell, Dagnir i Glamhoth was held by a Dunedain family that lived in Arnor (the North Kingdom) from it's founding by Elendil, they weren't related to the line of Kings but serviced  them thought out the third age. During the War of the Ring, Arithir brought Dagnir i Glamhoth south with the Gray Company and fought
In The Battle of the Pelennor Fields where he died with Halbarad. Aragorn, now King Elessar of the Reunited Kingdom of Arnor and Gondor brought it north when he returned to formally take hold of the Land of the King (the meaning of the word Arnor) he gave it to Arithir's son Dirhaborn saying "Your father fell with more the two score orcs around him. Take this Bane of the Ocs, knowing that he saved many lives in doing so".
