"I am Laurë (Golden Light) Fist of Glorfindel" reads the inscription at the hilt of this Elf forged blade. Glorfindel (named for his Golden Hair), an Elven Lord of the Eldar, had this sword forged by the Elves of Rivendell to replace the sword lost when he fell dueling the Balrog, after the fall of Gondolin. Laurë is the sword he bore when driving the Nazgul into the charging river at the Ford of Bruinen, aiding a troupe of Hobbits to bear the one ring to the safe confines of Rivendell.
