Sword of Nial Warrior and blacksmith, Nial; husband to Maeve and father of the future King Conan. Nial passed on his warrior ways to his son Conan at a very young age, before being murdered and having young Conan snatched away by Vanir Raiders to be sold as a slave at the wheel of a grain mill at the village of Thurdvang. Specs: Bronze work: sculptor Jeffrey Robinson The blade is engraved with Runes reading "THIS YOU CAN TRUST ". In the early scenes of the movie Nial advises young Conan "For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts. This you can trust." (Conan the Barbarian; Warner Bros. 1982) Test cutting clip HERE ; & HERE is another great little vid to capture the work of Jeffrey's sculpture. And also check out In the Name of Crom, Even Kings Die, and King of Kingdom Lost
The reverse of the blade reads: "WIELD THIS IN THE NAME OF CROM ". A tribute to the original filmsword engraving: "Suffer no guilt ye who wield this in the name of Crom".
The Grip is Australian Jarrah. Burned on one side is the Name "NIAL", and on the reverse is "CIMMERIAN". Thus the signature of the maker, Nial of Cimmeria.
Jeffrey's Version: After his acid etching and grip wrap: Inscriptions read: "I AM THE QUESTION " and "I AM THE ANSWER "; a thought provoking reference to the Riddle of Steel.
