The Banksia tree was favoured by Aborigine people as a source of sweet drink from it's nectar, or the edible grubs which could reliably be found in the trees. Extremely unique, with beautiful fruitpods, the banksia are most diverse in the South West area of Australia.

This is the natural shape of the Banksia nut as I found it.
