Orcrist From the story The Hobbit (J.R.R. Tolkein). Orcrist was found by Bilbo and the troup in a Troll's horde, along with Glamdring and Sting. Thorin the Dwarf, heir to the Throne under the Mountain, claimed Orcrist; while Gandalf claimed Glamdring, and Bilbo was given Sting. Elrond of Rivendell translated the Cirth engravings: The Guard bears the name "Orcrist". The blade - "Goblin Cleaver". Elrond informs them that these swords belonged to the High Elves of the West, and were made in Gondolin for the Goblin Wars. A replica of the One Ring adorns the grip to remind the bearer of the Evil he is sworn to fight.
